deAutomation is a business improvement and digital technology consultancy based in Adelaide, South Australia. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and our work, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

What we collect.

We collect two kinds of information.

• Information you give us. When you email, call or engage us, you may share your name, role, company, contact details and information about a project, process or system. Please only send what is needed for the enquiry, and avoid sending confidential or sensitive information before an engagement is agreed.
• Information collected automatically. Our website uses Google Analytics to record pages viewed, the referring page, approximate location (city level), browser and device type, and general interactions. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, including IP address and request details, for security and diagnostics.

We do not collect payment card details through this website, and we do not ask for sensitive information such as health or identity documents here.

Cookies and analytics.

Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-3QVB250FYJ) uses first-party cookies to measure how the site is used. Google may process this data outside Australia. You can read Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy, and you can opt out of analytics across sites with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

This site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends a request, including your IP address, to Google. You can block cookies and third-party requests in your browser settings; the site will still work.

How we use information.

• To respond to enquiries and discuss a potential engagement.
• To quote for, deliver and support consulting, software and data work.
• To maintain business records, invoices and legal obligations.
• To understand how the website is used and improve it.
• To protect the site and our systems from misuse.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not add you to a marketing list without your consent.

Who we share information with.

We share information only where it is needed for the purposes above, with:

• service providers such as Google Cloud for hosting and logging, Google for analytics and fonts, and our email provider;
• professional advisers such as accountants or lawyers, where required;
• a person or authority where we are required or permitted by law to disclose it.

Where information is processed overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with this policy.

Storage, security and retention.

Information is stored on reputable cloud services, with access limited to people who need it. We use encryption in transit and other reasonable safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as it is needed to deal with the enquiry, and client and business records for as long as the engagement and applicable record-keeping requirements require.

Access, correction and complaints.

You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask a question about this policy by emailing hi@deautomation.co. We will respond within a reasonable period.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page, with the date shown above.
